Job Profile

The Nutrition and Database Specialist is responsible for creating, assessing, and verifying food and recipe information. They will be inputting a wide range of food data into our internal database as well as ensuring that the data is accurate. This individual will work closely with the marketing team to develop new ideas as well as ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to create new and exciting recipes that adhere to the WW standards (i.e. SmartPoints-approved, based on member feedback trends, and data).
  • Input, verify, and generate nutrition facts
  • Performs critical validation or information to confirm accuracy, adhere to established conventions, and ensure the prevention of duplicate records, using multiple analytical approaches
  • Understands menu relationships: divisions of recipes, nutrition, allergies, and how database and corresponding data needs to be set up as it relates to operational and formulary requirements. Identifies records that require intervention to resolve potential duplicate records or inaccurate setup.
  • Ability to properly analyze nutritional data
  • Collaborate with marketing team to identify the nutrition needs of future WW recipes
  • Provide nutrition tips and advice on menus and other programs and events as needed
  • Develop nutrition information such as worksheets, flyers, letters, surveys, and evaluation for Studio Team Members
  • Liaise with Global Food Database Team to maintain best practices for managing the internal Food Database
  • Write responses to the customer service team for all food, nutrition, and program related inquiries
  • Participate in training and mentoring as requested by management
  • Assist in additional food or nutrition related projects
  • Support local marketing initiatives as requested by management   

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Foods and Nutrition Dietetics or public health nutrition, dietetic registration eligibility preferred (Degree’s must be obtained by appropriately accredited institutions)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience creating recipes
  • Familiarity with a wide range of diet types and an understanding of global food trends 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and web-based applications as well as G-Suite
  • Experience in data analysis and CMX use
  • Superior organizational, communication, customer service, and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Proven to work independently and efficiently
