Job Profile

The network administrator / cyber security specialist will provide network & IT security support to WWC head office as well as remote locations and will enhance, maintain, and restore communications systems and all related peripherals.  This may include support for problem resolution, change management (installs/moves/adds/changes), network architecture and design.  Technologies include Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, VPN devices and many more.  The role will also involve supporting & maintaining Windows servers, local and cloud-based databases, Citrix servers, Active Directory, VOIP, file management, backups, and remote accesses. This role will build strong relationships within the IT community and within the US.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated ability to Manage LAN, WAN, Firewalls, wireless LAN, data center, load balancer & WAN optimization, ensuring system availability and performance
  • Provide troubleshooting and configuration management of networked equipment.  Identify and analyze the root cause of performance breakdowns and recommend solutions
  • Oversee network capacity & performance management, trouble analysis, repair, upgrades and enhancements
  • Produce necessary documentation for the managed network environment.  This may include network diagrams, method procedures, business case development, statement of work, transition plan, project plan, etc
  • Provide on-site technical support during implementation and upgrade project work
  • Develop/Maintain Disaster recovery process and testing and Data Security
  • Manage and support internal IT help desk staff with network and server issues and respond to escalated issues.
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems in a timely manner
  • Track and monitor problem resolution of all helpdesk staff. Review for reoccurring issues and provide long term resolutions
  • Manage software licenses and hardware serial numbers
  • Manage administration and support of all WWC Servers and Applications
  • Provide training to helpdesk staff and assist with user training
  • Managed IT procurement for WWC and maintain relationships with external vendors
  • Perform new hardware installation and upgrade as well as maintain and implement Mac/PC workstations
  • Maintain Operating systems/MS Office/Symantec Anti-Virus/ Adobe/ Citrix etc.
  • Perform installation, configuration and upgrade of software applications
  • Provide daily server support to end-users for Mac OS X, Windows 2008/2012/Win 7/Win 10 (desktop and servers)
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems in a timely manner
  • Maintain/Support Remote access for employees and agents
  • Maintain Shared File management (Shared drives) user administration
  • Complete new server installations and administration, and ensure servers are at optimal performance level

Technical Knowledge

  • Active Directory Maintenance Win 2008/2012
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 2008R2-2016 Servers
  • Knowledge in SQL server 2008 and newer
  • Citrix XenApp Administration and Implementation Knowledge
  • Outlook/Exchange knowledge
  • SharePoint Design and Implementation knowledge
  • Carbonite, LogMeIn, Symantec Cloud Anti-Virus
  • Arkadin, Zoom, WEBEX, Google Hangout web conferencing,


  • Minimum of  7 years relevant IT Experience and a Bachelor of Computer Science Degree
  • Expert knowledge of IT Security and risk issues
  • Information Security Certification / Accreditation is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of organization, technology controls, security and risk issues
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in complex, comprehensive or large projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to serve as a lead expert resource in technology controls and information security for project teams, the business, organization and outside vendors.

Working conditions

  • Works in a comfortable office environment.
  • Concentration and focus required for prolonged periods of time using computers.
  • May be required to work additional hours during the evening and weekends.
  • High volume working in tight deadlines

Physical requirements

  • May require sitting for extended periods of time while working with a computer, and occasionally do some light lifting of supplies and materials of no more than 15lbs from time to time.

  • Works in cooperation with all levels across the organization.
  • Key coordinating relationships with Director IT and third-party vendors/implementation partners.
